About this tune

Best known today from O'Neill's "Music of Ireland" (1903), where it sits at No. 1175, this slip jig had already worked its way through earlier 19th-century Irish collections. It also travels under the older title "Quick, We Have But a Second," the name under which P.M. Haverty printed it in his "One Hundred Irish Airs" (1859). Usually played in D, it has been recorded by Cherish the Ladies on "Woman of the House" and by Danú on "Up in the Air."
