About this tune
A slip jig by the Tipperary composer Paddy O'Brien (1922–1991), named for the Arra Mountains — Sliabh an Ara — the range between Nenagh and Ballina in his home county. O'Brien recorded it himself on The Banks of the Shannon with the fiddler Séamus Connolly, and Eileen O'Brien, who has gathered and published his compositions, plays it on Aon le hAon. Among later settings, the piper Leonard Barry takes it on Littoral.
