About this tune
Lisdoonvarna (Irish Lios Dúin Bhearna, "fort of the gapped keep") is a former spa town in the Burren of County Clare, where Victorian society came to take the mineral waters and where an annual matchmaking festival still draws crowds. The slide reached a wide audience through the Chieftains, who recorded it on The Chieftains 3, and it took hold in the United States after Grey Larsen and Malcolm Dalglish paired it with the closely related O'Keeffe's Slide.
