Mystery Reel

Frankie Gavin recorded this reel as the "Mystery Reel" on his album *Fierce Traditional*, and the name suits it — its Irish title, Ríl na Rúndiamhaire, means "the reel of the mystery." My own trail to it is hazy too: I first caught it in an obscure house-session video I've never managed to find again — Michael McGoldrick on flute, if I remember right — and later recorded it myself on *Fiddle and Flute* with fiddler Natalie Padilla and pianist Peter Romero.
