About this tune
"May Song" comes from the German harper Rüdiger Oppermann, who built himself one of the first Celtic harps in Europe — back when you couldn't buy one — and steeped himself for years in the tradition. I first picked it up closer to home, from the Boulder harper Margot Krimmel: we played a run of gigs together, and "May Song" was a regular in her repertoire.
