About this tune
A D-major reel printed simply as "Green Mountain" in O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1850 Melodies), 1903 (No. 1205), and again in Miles Krassen's 1976 edition of O'Neill. The Donegal fiddler Neillidh Boyle (1889–1961) recorded it on 78 in Dublin in 1937. Born in Easton, Pennsylvania to Irish parents but raised in Donegal, Boyle became an influential exponent of the northern fiddle style.
